Biographical Sketch

Yvonne Smallwood Sherrer MD FACR

Dr Sherrer graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine She completed an Internship Residency and three year fellowship in Allergy Immunology and Rheumatology at Stanford University where she was mentored by the pioneer in outcomes research Dr Jim Fries She subsequently joined Cleveland Clinic Florida were she chaired the department of Rheumatology and Immunology for 5 years

She started the Centre for Rheumatology Immunology and Arthritis in 1998 and has been its Medical Director since that time She has also served on the Arthritis Advisory board of the FDA She has served on numerous local and national committees and boards including the board of the American College of Rheumatology She is a former president of the Florida Society of Rheumatology and currently serves on its executive committee

She has been the principal investigator on over 250 clinical trials almost exclusively in Rheumatology pharmaceutics Her specific areas of interest are Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Rheumatoid Arthritis Scleroderma and chronic pain
