Veronica is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With over 30 years in the medical field, she holds a solid foundation in nursing, making her a compassionate and well-rounded mental health professional.
Veronica earned her Bachelors degree from Mercy College, then pursued her Master's and post-master degrees at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. She also completed her internship at a mental health agency in New York.
Driven by a desire to address the disparity in mental health services, Veronica transitioned from a medical background to a focus on the psychological well-being of individuals. Her experience in both family and psychiatric care equips her to cater to a diverse range of needs.
Veronicas extensive experience spans working with children, adolescents, and adults. She adopts a holistic approach to mental health, offering both in-person and telehealth services. She collaborates with therapists to ensure clients receive various modalities, including psychotherapy, CBT, and dialectical behavioral therapy, tailoring her approach to each individual's needs, while providing education on possible medication reactions and black box warnings during medication management sessions.
Veronica specializes in treating a range of conditions, from major depressive disorder to anxiety disorders, ADHD, and more. Her emphasis on psychoeducation ensures that clients are well-informed about their treatment journey. Her goal is to help individuals achieve stability and function optimally. She focuses on building a therapeutic alliance, offering support with boundaries, and maintaining a non-judgmental space for clients to open up.
Outside of work, Veronica is a family-oriented individual. Married with one adult child and grandchildren, she cherishes quality time, engaging in arts and crafts, cooking, and outdoor adventures.
