Valdencia Gossing, ARNP

I am a northwest native, born into a military family and raised in South Puget Sound. My roots are strongly grounded in living the Pacific Northwest Life. I enjoy wellness activities, camping, kayaking, self-care activities, and cooking for my family and friends. I went to nursing school at Seattle Pacific University where I earned several degrees including a Bachelor in Nursing Science in 2003, A Master Degree In Nursing Leadership in 2007, and Advance Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014. I attended two additional years of courses with the Institute of Functional Medicine to learn how to find root causes to common medical condition. Initially in my career I worked as an Intensive Care Nurse and then moved to Labor Delivery. I enjoyed a career in instructional and program design for nurses at a large healthcare corporation where I implemented several large changes to improve patient care. I am a regional conference speaker, advocating for professional development in nursing. I served on the University of Washington Advanced Nursing Conference Committee for many years, volunteering my time to deliver continuing education to nurses. I enjoy working with families to provide comprehensive medical care. My clinical day feels complete when I have discussed ways to treat my patients holistically; carefully listening to their journeys and offering suggestions to set them on a path to wellness. I take time to listen to my patients and believe they are the expert on how they feel. I partner with patients to find a plan of care that feels comfortable and organic, providing lifestyle options first whenever possible. I am available to my patients via clinic text. I strive to be in reach for difficult moments, illness, and life transitions; helping to guide and provide evidenced-based recommendations.
