Tonisha Harrison

Welcome Tonisha Harrison, AGPCNP-C, who specializes in hospital and internal medicine. She specializes in acute and chronic disease management and is interested in Diabetes prevention and treatment. She is compassionate about developing relationships with patients to understand their health needs and working collaboratively with each to develop a plan to achieve their optimal state of health.
She started her nursing career in 2000, working at Ascension Health, caring for adults and geriatrics. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Oakland University in Rochester, MI, and her graduate degree in advanced nursing from Kaplan University in Davenport, IL, in 2015. She holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is studying Educational Leadership in Nursing at Chamberlain Universitys Doctoral program. Her doctoral project focuses on preventing complications and hospital readmissions in adult patients with Diabetes Mellitus type 2. She is an adjunct faculty member at Walden University, teaching Primary Care of Adults Across the Lifespan at Walden University since 2019 to nurse practitioner students. She is active with professional nursing organizations and leadership in her nursing community. When she is not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband, children, grandchildren, glamping, family gatherings, and cooking.
