Sherie R. Ramsgard, MSN, NPP/FNP

Origionally from Lake Placid, NY, where she received a Regents Diploma and several scholarships,
Sherie received her Associates in Nursing Degree from Canton ATC. She continued on to receive
her Bachelors in Science Nursing from SUNY UticaRome. Her first Psyciatry experience was at an
Inpatient New York State Psychiatry Facility, downstate, where she worked with clients
18yo-100yo.
Sherie relocated to the Syracuse Area after three years downstate to be closer to family and
friends and started an exciting 6 year employment experience a Private Psychiatric Center here
in Syracuse Benjamin Rush Center. While there, Sherie also attended Syracuse University and
received her Masters in Science Nursing as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. During that time,
Sherie married a local boy and had 2 beautiful children. While she took some time off from her
career raising her family and helping her husband with his Architecture and Furniture business,
Sherie went back to Syracuse University to earn her Family Nurse Practitioner and became
dually licensed as a Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Sherie worked part time while she raised her children Upstate University Hospital Outpatient
Mental Health Clinic and at a Private Outpatient Psychiatry office. Most recently Sherie spent the
last two years developing the Psychiatry program Syracuse University and working with the students, but her dream was always to have her own practice where she could focus on wellness as a key component to Mental Health while working collaboratively with the clients. Whole Mental Wellness is a vision that has been a long time coming with alot of support from friends, family, and previous clients. Sherie brings over 26 years of education and experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages. She received the MSN Research Award from Syracuse University, 1998, with her thesisresearch on Presence and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and she received the Advanced Psychiatric Nurse of the year Award from the Syracuse Area Psychiatric Nurses Association in 2001. She has presented at several local and national conventions on various Mental Health related topics
