Sekhar Upadhyayula, MD

After initial training for three years in general surgery through Columbia University and a primary residency in Anesthesiology at New York Medical College, and further specialization training in Pain Medicine at Saint Vincents Medical Center, Dr. Sekhar Upadhyayula was an Assistant Clinical Professor in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.
He is also affiliated with Mt. Sinai HealthCare in NYC.

He is double-boarded in anesthesiology and interventional pain management. In 2000, he was named Chief of the division of Pain Medicine and the Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship at Saint Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers, affiliated with New York Medical College in Manhattan. He assumed the position of Medical Director for the Clinical Practice. He trained many Interventional Pain Management physicians who have subsequently entered prominent academic and private practice positions throughout the United States.
Dr Upadhyayula received the Nargis Dutt Humanitarian Award, "NY Hero," for his services at Ground Zero during and after 911.
He continues to travel to underserved countries several weeks per year to provide free care services to the needy.
In 2020, during the COVID pandemic, he volunteered his time and expertise for various charities.

He now brings his expertise to the private concierge practice in Rego Park, part of the group State of the Medical Art, Joint Commission Surgical practice.
