Rakesh Prasad, M.D.

Dr. Rakesh Prasad was born in India where he completed his medical education at M.G.M. Medical College in Jamshedpur, India. He worked as a resident at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital, Tata Main Hospital, and Rajendra Medical College emphasizing medical studies in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Pathology, and Medical Radiotherapy. He moved to Oklahoma City, OK in 1992 for residency at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, OK. He is double board certified in Internal Medicine, a specialty dealing in the medical treatment of adult illness, as well as in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
He continues to be involved in the community and teaches students from the Physician Assistant Program, Nurse Practitioner Program, and Observership Program for International Medical Graduates. He is also an active member with the American Medical Association, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, Oklahoma Medical Society, County Medical Society of Oklahoma County, and IMG section of AMA.
Rakesh Prasad opened his practice in 1996 where he continues to practice and which he now shares with his wife, Dr. Sujata Prasad, who is also board certified in Internal Medicine. Together, they have two sons living in Oklahoma City. He enjoys food and travel.
