Rachel Holzhauer, MS, PA-C

Rachel believes in access to quality care, especially when yu feel like you're struggling the most. She believes in a collaborative approach to treatment, so she is committed to being accessible to patients. This means that patients are able to schedule appointments without timely waits, hear back directly from Rachel when there are questions in-between appointments, and taking greater time with each patient. Her goal is to find a treatment approach that best fits with each individual patient. Rachel completed both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Philadelphia University. Once completing school, Rachel relocated to the Charlotte, NC area and started working on an inpatient psychiatric unit. While she enjoyed being a part of the hospital team, Rachel also found she enjoyed practicing on the outpatient unit as she gets to spend more time building a relationship with each patient. She has experience working with behavioral health patients that are inpatient, outpatient, in intensive outpatient programs, and for emergency psychiatric evaluations. In addition to psychiatric experience, Rachel also practices in primary care and continues to enjoy this role. As a provider that believes all systems are linked, mentally and physically, she enjoys keeping up-to-date in all areas of medicine and working in primary care allows for this. Rachel also believes educating others should be held to a priority. For this reason, she lectures in psychiatry for Philadelphia University and is a clinical faculty member for the Wingate University PA program.
