My practice focuses on Kidney Diseases as well as general Internal Medicine. My goal is to identify the patient at risk for progressive kidney disease and treat the many causative factors that may be present. Typically this means controlling elevated blood pressure, elevated blood lipids and vigorous management of Diabetes Mellitus-trio of disorders most often found in patients requiring hemodialysis or kidney transplantation. I want to help you to avoid overt kidney failure and I have enjoyed considerable success in my efforts over the past 35 or more years.
I am fully University trained both at The Medical College of Virginia and at Washington University School of Medicine. I have enjoyed teaching appointments at both of our regional medical schools and maintain close contact with regional and national experts to help confirm my opinions and provide the most current treatments available. My willingness to secure the help of other expert clinicians has been very important over the years. I will listen and explain as well as treat. Communication is of foremost importance in this practice.
