Mumtaz Jahan, MD

Mumtaz Jahan MD is a resident of Brooklyn. Originally from Khulna in Bangladesh, Dr. Jahan has practiced medicine for over 35 years. She graduated with Honors in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where she then practiced medicine and was an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 1990 she immigrated to the USA and completed her U.S. residency at The Brooklyn Hospital Center affiliated with Cornell University and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, New York. Dr. Jahan has also served in clinics for underserved women throughout the U.S.A. in places as diverse as South Dakota, Kansas and Washington State. These experiences reinforced in Dr. Jahan the importance of preventive care, especially in Breast, Ovarian and Colon Cancers. I was privileged to see women from different backgrounds take control of their health and the health of their children and their family as a whole through education and practice.
