Michael A. Russell, DO

Dr.Russell moved to Austin in 1996 to pursue, and eventually marry, his middle school sweetheart, Jennifer. He was a singersongwriter and attended Austin Community College before earning his BA in Biology from the University of Texas graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors. After graduation, he worked for the American Cancer Society, where he realized his love for caring and ministering to those in need. He attended Medical School at the University of North Texas in Fort Worth. His family then moved back to Austin as quickly as they could for residency at the UT Southwestern Family Medicine program, and to raise their three beautiful daughters. In addition to practicing traditional medicine, his Osteopathic training provides expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of musculo-skeletal ailments, and he is open to explore evidence-based, alternative treatment modalities in his efforts to provide comprehensive, holistic care for patients. His greatest joys include time with his family at home, hiking on the greenbelt, rock climbing, making music and being active in his church community.
