Michael Rivera, DPM

Dr. Michael A. Rivera is a Board Certified, Foot and Ankle Surgeon expert with over 30 years of clinical medical and surgical experience. He obtained his podiatric medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and then did his two-year residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York City, with an additional foot and ankle orthopedic surgical fellowship.

He has been practicing in Memorial Hospital West for the past 17 years. He has been a persistent Foot and ankle surgical attending for the surgical program at memorial Hospital Health systems. He has been practicing in South Florida for more than 18 years at Mercy Hospital, and has been an Adjunct Surgical professor for the Mercy Barry University podiatric residency program. He was the past Chief of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Mercy Hospital for several years and continues to be a Founding Ambassador of the Mercy Hospital Foundation.

Dr. Rivera was also past President of the Miami-Dade County Podiatric Medical Association. In 2007, he opened up an additional office location, to better help serve the South Florida, Broward County community and is actively involved with the Memorial Hospital, Podiatric Surgical Residency program. As an educator, consultant, business owner, philanthropist and father he understands the unique needs and concerns of his patients.

Dr. Rivera's practice mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive, efficient quality foot and ankle care with an edge on using the latest technological advances in foot and ankle surgery and sports medicine.

He is also a founding member of the Emmaus Medical Mission, which began sending podiatrists on medical mission trips to South and Central America 23 years ago. Dr. Rivera is a humble, dedicated physician and family man. He enjoys the outdoors, exercise and has a passion for golf.
