Michael W. Fitzgibbons, M.D.

Dr. Fitzgibbons is a California native born in Berkeley. Interested in health care from an early age, he received his AB degree in Bacteriology and Immunology from the University of California, Berkeley in 1972 and graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1976. His internship and residency in Internal Medicine was completed at the University of California, Irvine and Affiliated Hospitals, followed by a two-year Infectious Disease Fellowship under the tutelage of Lauri Thrupp, M.D. and Jeremiah Tilles, M.D. He is a Medical Staff member in good standing with St. Joseph's Medical Center, HealthSouth Tustin Rehabilitation Hospital, and Chapman Medical Center. At the former Western Medical Center, Santa Ana, he served as Chief of Staff from 2002 to 2004. He is a member of the AMA, CMA, Infectious Disease Society of America, HIV Medical Association, American Society for Microbiology, and the Orange County Medical Association.

As a Board Certified Internist and Infectious Disease Specialist, Dr. Fitzgibbons has been practicing in Orange County since 1982. He has a special interest in HIV and skin and soft tissue infections and is a passionate advocate for both patients and physicians. He sees patients with a variety of infectious diseases and illnesses at his office and during hospital visits. He makes it a point to see all who are referred to him, within his ability to schedule them.
