Dr. Kozminski is proud to call the Pittsburgh region his home and is originally from Western Pennsylvania. He holds dual degrees in Mathematics and Chemical Engineering and is a 2005 graduate of Lake Erie Osteopathic Medicine LECOM. He did his residency in Neurology at Madigan Healthcare System in Tacoma, Washington. During his residency, he experienced exposure to a high volume of Headache and Concussion cases which provided an opportunity for him to become published in peer reviewed journals, present at national meetings, and accumulate extensive training with subspecialty nerve blocks and Botulinum Toxin Botox injections. Dr. Kozminski has been performing Botox for chronic migraine before it was FDA approved for chronic migraine and to date has performed thousands of injections. Additionally, he received further training for Botox injection techniques via a scholarship and was trained by top physicians at Emory University.
After residency, Dr. Kozminski was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom OIF where he served as the Battalion Surgeon for the 9th Infantry The Manchus, the oldest and most decorated infantry in the US Army. His experience in combat theater afforded further opportunities to gain experience with nerve blocks, publish in peer reviewed journals and his work cumulated into a poster presentation at the American Headache Center in regards to headaches in Iraq local nationals. His direct supervisors consisted of Army Rangers, Silver and Bronze Star Recipients, and the future West Point Chief of Staff. His work under these superior officers resulted in him receiving a stellar Office Evaluation Report and commendation. After deployment, Dr. Kozminski was finally able to sit for an passed his initial certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
The next adventure for Dr. Kozminski after OIF awaited at Fort Hood, where he was the Chief of Neurology at Darnall Army Medical Center. Fort Hood is one of the largest military bases in the free world with a high tempo of combat troops completing deployments. During this time, Dr. Kozminski formed allegiance with a number of the Southern Headache Society members and gained a wealth of experience. Shortly after he completed his military services, he was eligible for and passed his examination for Headache Medicine by the United Council or Neurological Subspecialties. He has been a member of the American Headache Society since 2005 and in 2015, he earned the distinction of becoming a Fellow with American Headache Society.
Dr. Kozminski and his wife Tonya who is also a physician in Family Medicine have been married since 2002 and have two children, son who is a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a daughter that is a student at PennWest Edinboro
Dr. Kozminski's main practice focus has been virtual neurology and he currently provides inpatient consults to numerous hospitals in multiple states.
