I grew up in Chicago, the oldest of 8 children and was the first in my family to go to college. My undergraduate training was in education and I worked as a high school teacher for the Chicago Public Schools for 10 years prior to medical school. I met my husband when I was student teaching. I am married , have three children and went to medical school when my oldest daughter was five. I Graduated the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and did residency in OB GYN at University of Illinois and Michael Reese Hospitals in Chicago. The U of I Michael Reese program was one of the strongest physician education programs due to its wide exposure to both clinical practice ,surgery ,and research I have been board certified since 1993 and enjoy taking care of women throughout their lives. I have worked in Indiana since 1997. I try to find cost effective non invasive solutions to medical problems especially in these days of high dollar deductibles. I do office ultrasound, office surgery, IUDs, contraceptive implants, and office dermatology. We offer vaccines and provide primary care for our patients. I practice a wide range of gynecology and am skilled in vaginal surgery, prolapse work, urologic slings as well as non invasive and minimally invasive techniques. I enjoy seeing patients get fit with our weight loss services, become pregnant with our fertility programs, and become happier when hot flashes, sexuality, mood disorders, anxiety, depression ,fatigue. pain and bleeding are controlled. I treat polycystic ovary disease, diabetes, hypertension, hypothyroidism and a wide range of primary care issues. I enjoy continuously learning, and serve as a preceptor to medical students from Indiana University. Training the next generation of physicians is a way of giving back to the skilled mentors that trained me.
