I am a Board certified Psychiatrist, licensed in New York State, with over 25 years of experience, currently on Voluntary Staff at Montefiore Medical Center. I have been a private practitioner, working at two Montefiore Medical groups, since April 2008. Prior to that, I worked as a Psychiatrist for HIP for many years from 1990 to April 2008, first at a Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic and then at two medical group sites. I enjoy working as a Psychiatrist in a medical setting, collaborating with primary care physicians, where there is an interface between Psychiatry and Medicine. I am gratified when, with a medication trial or adjustments in medications, I can help bring about positive changes in patients lives. Throughout my many years of working with patients as a psychiatrist, I have been able to help a large number of patients to live richer, more fulfilling, more enjoyable and more comfortable lives by alleviating or controlling symptoms of depression, anxiety, mania, and psychosis, in large part with the help of an armamentarium of medications along with support and compassion as well as strength, understanding and collaborative effort on the part of the patient. When I start a patient on medication, with the goal of resolving troubling symptoms, I start with a low dose and taper up gradually in order to try to avoid uncomfortable side effects. I do thorough initial evaluations make individualized treatment plans with each patient. My emphasis is on medication treatment supportive psychotherapy. I work with adults 18 or older and senior adults.

My office is located in the Village of Larchmont near the train station and is easily accessible to Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Pelham, Harrison, Scarsdale, Rye, Bronxville, and White Plains as well as Greenwich, Connecticut.
