Jorge Nasr, DPM

Dr. Nasr has been practicing in his hometown of Miami for 22 years, and is now paving the way for future podiatrists to study and learn the best surgical techniques in the Kendall area.

Dr. Nasr received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami in 1985 and graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1990. He completed his residency at the Universal Medical Center for Reconstructive Foot Surgery in Plantation, Florida and began private practice immediately after finishing his residency in 1992.

He was the only podiatric surgeon at Kendall Regional Hospital for several years. During this time, Dr. Nasr trained the operating room staff in procedures commonly used by podiatrists. In 1999, Dr. Nasr founded the residency training program at Kendall Regional Medical Center, where he is still the director. Shortly after its inception, his residency training program was approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education.

Dr. Nasr was also instrumental in acquiring and maintaining Emergency Room privileges for all of the podiatric staff at Kendall Regional Hospital in 2002. For the past 12 years, Kendall Regional is still unique among podiatric emergency rooms because all of the lower extremity trauma is reserved for the podiatrists to treat. This includes tibia fractures and compartment syndrome. Over the last few years, Dr. Nasr has worked hard to maintain those privileges for all podiatrists at Kendall Regional Hospital. Aside from being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Nasr also works with the residents daily during their training process. He conducts weekly meetings, radiology conferences and often holds lectures to teach surgical techniques.
