I am an experienced mental heath clinician educator researcher and advocate with over 25 years experience treating patients with primary and secondary psychiatric symptoms and disorders My advice to my patients is that if you have been seeing a provider for six months have been following their recommendations and are not seeing notable improvement you should get a second opinion Countless individuals are in treatment for long indefinite periods of time without improvement in their symptoms and assume its their fault while that isnt always the case

Services provided by Dr Pasacreta include the following
1 Assessment and treatment for common yet often ignored psychiatric symptoms and disorders Services emphasize attention to typically underserved patient groups including the elderly adults and children exposed to consequences of family and social violence AND individuals with co occurring psychiatric and medical conditions Treatment education and support for family and professional caregivers is also a high priority Assessment data results in prompt individualized treatment that may include individual andor family psychotherapy pharmacotherapy education andor referral to community based resources Routine screening utilizes standardized measures that may precipitate more extensive evaluation procedures Meticulous evaluation procedures will facilitate optimal individualized treatment planning and will include goal setting outcome evaluation and revision of treatments as needed The assessment process will be used first and foremost to plan and implement optimum individualized care It will also contribute to an accumulating aggregate data base with potential to extend current knowledge regarding changes in the incidence prevalence complexity and nature of psychiatric problems Home based visits are available for individuals unable to make office visits

2 Comprehensive multimodal treatment including but not limited to psychopharmacologic management Other aspects of treatment include symptom management particularly of refractory medical symptoms including pain and diminished energy coping skills training cognitive behavioral therapy andor any combination of modalities that synergistically provide symptom relief typically not achievable with typical unitary interventions Evaluation and treatment of complex often interrelated physical psychological behavioral and social symptoms are an essential component of services and enhance the goal of being a referral source for complex cases involving symptom management from area hospitals clinics and general medical providers in surrounding communities

3 Community Liaison Activities IMHS provides linkages advocacy and education across a variety of services and agencies including schools managed care companies primary care and other non psychiatric providers in order to facilitate access as well as to de stigmatize delivery of mental health services especially for typically underserved patient population

4 Professional education supervision and support In addition to direct patient services indirect consultation to professionals will be offered as formal continuing education programs supervisory meetings andor consultation regarding specific problems andor cases Contact IMHS to arrange educational programs services
