James N. Antezana, M.D.

Dr. James Antezana is a graduate from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon, Faculty of Medicine Aurelio Melean, where he obtained his medical degree and did a one year rotational internship in the four major specialties Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, ObstetricsGynecology, and General Surgery. During his internship he defined his path and decided to pursue General Surgery in the United States.

He was accepted to a one year straight General Surgery residency program at Saint Mary's Hospital, a Yale affiliated program and then moved on to complete his five years of General Surgery at Mercy Catholic Medical Centers a Drexel UniversityUniversity of Pennsylvania affiliated program in Darby, PA. After his General Surgery training he was accepted into a Vascular Surgery Residency program at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics in Columbia, MO. His dedication to his patient and his love for surgery has made him what he is today.

He currently is the CEO and owner of South Charlotte General Vascular Surgery, which has been recognized as a center of limb salvage excellence. The center is located in a beautiful modern building built by Dr. Antezana in 2022 in Charlotte NC. He is a speaker at several vascular surgery conferences and travels to Africa and South America to support and educate his third world colleagues.
