Imelda Cruz-Banting, MD, FAAPMR, PT

Dr. Imelda Cruz-Banting has been in practice as a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation MD since 2000 serving the community of the Bronx. She is also a Physician certified to Use Acupuncture as well as a Licensed Physical Therapist.
She is a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

She did her residency training from 1995-1999 at New York Medical College rotating in different hospitals including Westchester County Medical Center, Montefiore North formerly Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, Metropolitan Hospital, St. Agnes Hospital and Jacobi Medical Center Pediatric Rehabilitation. She graduated at the top of her class at the University of the City of Manila, College of Medicine in 1990 as a medical scholar. Her undergraduate was Physical Therapy where she graduated Cum Laude at the University of Santo Tomas. She practiced as a licensed physical therapist first in FL from 1991-1995 and continues to maintain a PT license in NY.

She sees patients all ages with various musculoskeletal, orthopedic, neurologic, medical, oncological, vascular, and rheumatologic conditions that need physical medicine and rehabilitation services including physical therapy. She also uses different modalities to treat pain including US guided injections, acupuncture, and use of prosthesesorthoses. The practice uses different studies including EMGNCS Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies to check for nerve or muscle diseases, Videonystagmography or VNG to check for vestibularequilibriumbalance dysfunction, SUDO Scan to rule out different kinds of neuropathy to help in diagnosing patients to be able to design the most appropriate management towards regaining functional independence.
