Hyo Kim, NP

I am a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. I joined the wonderful team of providers at Tendercare Pediatrics in 2012, and took a break in 2019 to care for my two young kids full-time. I am excited to come back to work with a caring and compassionate health care team, reconnect with established patients, and to form relationships with new families at this growing and nurturing practice!

My early childhood years were in South Korea, but after my family immigrated to the USA, I have spent most of my life in sunny beautiful Southern California. I graduated from UCLA with a bachelors of science in Psychobiology, then worked towards my bachelors and masters of science at Cal State Long Beach. During my nurse practitioner program, I learned that my passion and energy gravitated towards working with babies, children, and parents. Thus, I chose Pediatrics as my specialty in graduate school. At Tendercare Pediatrics, my goal is to provide empathetic care looking at the whole child, guided by evidence-based practice and research.

When I am not shuffling my two children between school and extracurriculars, I love spending time with my husband and kids, serving in our local church, staying active through fitness, traveling, and trying new restaurants bakeries.
