Meet Dr Hoyman Hong Pain Management Specialist

Dr Hong completed medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit MI He finished internship at University Medical CenterUCSF in Fresno and his residency at Stanford University Medical Center in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation He completed a fellowship at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York in interventional spine and sports medicine
He is Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as in Pain Medicine His medical training focused on conservative and rehabilitative treatments for various musculoskeletal and neurologic injuries and conditions His fellowship training focused on providing interventional treatment options to patients with spinal conditions and sports injuries
Currently serves as the Medical Director of the Phoebe Cowles Center for Comprehensive Pain Treatment in San Francisco He is a team medical consultant for the San Francisco Giants and for University of San Francisco Department of Athletics Dr Hong also served as an official tour physician with the Womens Tennis Association WTA during the Bank of West Tournament held at Stanford for ten years
Dr Hong believes that an accurate diagnosis is the fundamental core of all medical treatment The greatest challenge in the practice of Pain Medicine is diagnosing the individual components that cause the problem Only after understanding the condition and the context in which a problem exists can the journey to recovery begin

As a dedicated physician I try to define a problem from all aspects and develop an individualized plan for the patients treatment Once the I lay out the options I help the patient make the best decision and problem solve their barriers to recovery

Dr Hong is available for consultations at his private offices and at the Center for Pain treatment at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital He is also available for telehealth or video econsultations which may be scheduled through the website portal
