Heather Perkins

Heather Perkins is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP-BC who performs diagnostic evaluations, medication management, and brief psychotherapy. Heather is passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults. Heather comes to Genesis with 25 years of nursing experience in both the psychiatric field and the school health field. Heather honed her skills as a psychiatric nurse working with patients in the Youth, Affective, Adult, and Senior Mental Health Units at a local hospital. Heather also gained valuable skills working at the state psychiatric hospital serving those with severe mental illness. As a school nurse, Heather saw first-hand how mental health affects our youth, and she became an advocate for the students she served.  Heather earned a Bachelor of Science and a Post-Masters Certificate in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. Heather enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, traveling, and being with family and friends.
