About
Dr Benaquista DeSipio is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury Medicine through The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She is trained in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and is certified in Cranial Osteopathy through the Cranial Academy.

Dr. DeSipio received her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following internship she completed a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury medicine, both at UMDNJNJMSKessler Institute for Rehabilitation.

During her post graduate training at Kessler, Dr DeSipio was the recipient of the Mitchell L Rosenthal PhD Research Award for her research on osteopathic manipulative treatment for chronic headache after traumatic brain injury.

Following her training, Dr DeSipio served as attending physician and Co-director of Spinal Cord Injury Services at MossRehab focusing her practice on spinal cord injury medicine, stroke rehabilitation, osteopathic manipulative medicine, and spasticity management.

Currently, she is the founder and President of MainLine BodyBrainSpine, PC and the Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Inglis House in Philadelphia, Pa. Her private office is located in Haverford PA.

Dr. DeSipio lectures regionally and nationally and has co-authored several book chapters and articles in her field. Special topics of interest include Manual Manipulation for Post-Concussive and Whiplash Syndromes, Headache, Neck Pain, Anxiety, and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction and the Role for Osteopathy in Spinal Cord Injury.

In 2014, the TempleMossRehab PMR Residency program awarded Dr. DeSipio with Teacher of the Year for Excellence in Resident Education. She remains involved with the training of medical students and resident physicians and serves as a Clinical Instructor at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
