George Nikopoulos

Dr Nikopoulos treats mental health conditions with medications and psychotherapy including:
Depression
Severe Anxiety and Panic
Bipolar Disorder
Psychotic Disorders such as schizophrenia
Prescribes SUBOXONE Dr Nikopoulos works with clients that are involved in drug treatment programs such as AANA or more formal programs to help keep people sober from opiates He will prescribe SUBOXONE for either outpatient detoxification from opiates or as maintenance therapy for appropriate clients
Dr Nikopoulos has experience treating less common disorders as well including neuropsychiatric conditions


Dr Nikopoulos Graduated from medical school at UTMB in 1988 in Texas He then went to UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute for his psychiatry residency and graduated as a psychiatrist in 1992 He did a fellow ship at UCLA in psychopharmacology mental health medications in 1993 His internship there was in geriatric medicine and he was the Chief resident of the Geriatric psychiatry unit at UCLA
He has taught at the University of Utah for 20 years until moving to Texas in 2017 He has been an adjunct Associate Professor of psychiatry and has taught psychotherapy administration and quality improvement to the psychiatric physicians there and has been voted teacher of the year twice in that time
He has had many administrative roles while working at Intermountain Healthcare 20 years including Medical Director of the Behavioral Health Clinical Program and Medical Director of Behavioral Health at Select Health
