Dionne D. Harrison, MD

Dr. Dionne Harrison is an experienced clinician in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. She has been treating and counseling individuals and families for nearly 20 years. She is board-certified in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. She received her MD from SUNY at Buffalo School of Biomedical Science in 2003 and completed her psychiatric residency at Duke University in 2007. She has a broad range of experiences including community mental health practice with the severe and persistently mentally ill and those dually diagnosed with substance use disorders. She also had additional studies in Biblical counseling and clinical experience in marriage and family therapy, child trauma and neglect. She has treated children and adolescents in outpatient care, as medical director for youth group homes and long-term residential treatment. She has authored a children's book titled "A Letter From Tamar" for the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse in families. She is a dedicated wife and mother. Dr. Dionne is committed to a whole-person approach to psychiatry. She is known for listening to her patients and counselees and providing adequate time to address their various needs with a depth and attention that is uncommon. She has a special focus on Biblical counseling for Christian families that she sees but her non-Christian clients also applaud her deep compassion and respect for their needs as well.
