Daniel S. Defeo, DO

Doctor DeFeo was born in Paterson NJ, and then grew up in neighboring Haledon. In high school, he moved to Wayne and graduated from Wayne Valley High school. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in biology with a chemistry minor from The Richard Stockton College of NJ. After which, he completed medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine now NYIT-COM. Upon earning his DO, he travelled to Chicago to complete a 5-year residency in Emergency MedicineFamily Medicine and OMT at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields. Once residency was complete, he then returned to NJ and has practiced Family Medicine, OMT and Emergency Medicine in the northern NJ area since 2013. Establishing Osteopathic Family Medicine of Northern NJ, he has completed a goal nearly two decades in the making.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. DeFeo is very involved in advocacy and education. He has served on the board of directors of the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons since 2014, and has been on the Executive and Finance Committee of NJAOPS for the last 2 years. He also has recently been involved with Governor Murphys maternal morbidity and mortality task force. Doctor DeFeo has given multiple professional lectures, on both a regional and national level. Previously, he had served as clinical assistant faculty in the department of Emergency Medicine for both St. Joseph's Health and New York Medical College.
Doctor DeFeo is a married father of three children. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, travel, exercising and spending time with his family. He is a lifelong fan of the NY Mets and NJ Devils, as well as the Chicago Bulls and Las Vegas Raiders. When not in the office, you can find him near the ocean, on the golf course, or in the stands cheering for his favorite team.
