Clifton Peay, MD

Dr. Peay is a Cataract and Refractive Surgical Specialist in the Richmond metropolitan area. He is currently in private practice as the Medical Director of the American Eye Center. He is board certified since 1983. Hes a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American College of Surgeons and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has received several awards, the Service Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Excellence in Medicine Award from the NMA. Pres. Bill Clinton congratulated him for his work with the Health Policy Group on behalf of the NMA. He has a BS degree in Pharmacy, and he received his medical degree as well as his medical internship from SUNY, at Buffalo. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Michigan. He has served on the Board of Trustees of the National Medical Association former Chair. He was appointed to the Board of Visitors at Virginia Commonwealth University and is Chairman of the Roman-Barnes Society of Ophthalmology, founded in 1963. Serves as ModeratorChair NMA Ophthalmology Refractive SurgeryCataract Section and a past Chair of the Ophthalmology section of NMA. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and National Association to Prevent Blindness. He was nominated as a Fellow in 2010 to attend Harvard and successfully completed an Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellowship at Harvard University.
