I'm the founder of Renew TeleHealth, a telepsych practice that can see any patient in the state of California from their home computer and web camera. I do all diagnostic assessments and spend several hours honing each patient's diagnostic profile before making any treatment decisions. From this comprehensive diagnostic platform I'm able to determine a treatment course targeting their most functionally impairing diagnoses with treatments shown to have the greatest effectiveness "effect size" for those stats inclined. I prescribe medication judiciously but never forego its use when appropriate. It has been well established in the medical literature for quite some time that for most diagnoses, targeted psychotherapeutic treatments sizably outperform medications, especially when one takes into account a lifetime of side effects with medications and reversal of gains when medications are stopped. The therapists who work with me also through teleconferencing have experience providing most of these targeted types of therapy and we will assist referrals in the uncommon instances where we don't.
