Christina Chris L. Smith, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner credentialed through American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Originally from Niagara Falls, NY, Chris has resided in Florida since 1992. She achieved her Associate Degree in Nursing from Central Florida Community College, then her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Petersburg College and finally her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Florida State University.
Chris has been a nurse for over 20 years and has a vast experience in nursing including, but not limited to, Critical Care, cardiology, teaching, management, Hospice and telemedicine. She also achieved her Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification in business process improvement. Chris has also had training in Healing Touch and Reiki energy medicine and focuses on healing the mind, body and spirit. Since becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Chris has been working with a variety of adult patients. nitially she worked as a tele-health practitioner where she utilized technology to treat patients from a remote setting. Since then Chris has transitioned to her current role where she provides direct care to patients. Chris has always had a passion for mission work, taking the opportunity to help the underprivileged whenever she can through volunteering and mission trips. Chris has always loved to learn, teach and encourage people and finds that caring for geriatric patients as a nurse practitioner allows her this opportunity on a regular basis. When caring for her patients, Chris looks to each patient and their family with kindness, compassion and caring, realizing that each patient and their family needs to be treated holistically, including body, mind and spirit. Her goal is to look at the patient as a whole, not just their health, but who they are, who they were and where their current state of health is leading them. She does this by forming a partnership with her patients, their families and other health care professionals through the utilization of technology and evidence-based practice to coordinate the ultimate personalized plan of care for her patients.
