Becoming a doctor was a lifelong dream which started when I was a child seeing how the country doctor would come to our house to treat both me and my grandmother for our illness. This happened in a rural village in Bangladesh where I was born. Then my parents took me to Bahrain where I grew up but spent my summer vacations in Bangladesh. It was my older brothers dream to come to America and settle here. That's how I ended up in the US trying to pursue my dreams of becoming a physician.
The fact that I have blended the eastern and western cultures gives me a unique perspective on the practice of medicine in the US. I truly believe that most of the illnesses in this society are due to our lifestyle. So if we focus on eating a healthy and well balanced diet regularly, exercising to build strength, flexibility and endurance and finally improving our coping skills, we would diminish the sickness burden in our society.
I am happy to treat acute and non-life threatening illnesses through my urgent care part of the practice. My primary care practice is focused on wellness and chronic disease management.
