Treating patients with my hands has been the primary focus of my career but I never discount the importance of therapeutic strengthening and stretching and all of my patients are taught a Home Exercise Program HEP to support what we do in the clinic I am a Manual Physical Therapist but before I start asking you questions let me tell you a bit more about myself my practice and treatment philosophy so you can determine if this Physical Therapy Studio is likely to be a great fit for you

I graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physiotherapy in 1984 I have lived in Los Angeles since 1987 I have worked as the Outpatient Physical Therapy supervisor at Valley presbyterian Hospital Encino Tarzana and North Hollywood Hospitals as Director of Therapies PTPT and ST until 2000 I loved working in management but missed the the bond with my patients and the thrill of seeing my patients through their course of PT and the outcome of returning to what they love I have worked directly with patients both in inpatient and outpatient Physical Therapy at Encino Tarzana Hospitals until 2010 primarily Providence Tarzana Outpatient Therapy Services from 2010 to 2015

I dont have patients doing things in the clinic that they could be doing on their own at home or in their gym I value your time and anticipate you can do your exercises correctly once demonstrated I will modify them if I am not seeing the results I expect or if we need to change or review the plan Physical Therapy HEP are specific to each patient and given for home Written instruction is often stick figures Homework is a critical component to your recovery The necessary resources for you to do the homework will be provided on a trial basis with the expectation it will be returned If you decide you want to purchase any supplies you can do that from a vendor or online

Patients pay in full at the time of service and are provided a receipt with the necessary codesinfo to send in selfclaims to insurance if they so choose 150hoursession

Documentation is done on an electronic Health Record and our patients have access to their medical record via the Patient Fusion portal They may also get a printout of their PT treatment

My patients are passionate about what they do focussed on returning to what they love They are interested to learn about their bodies condition and treatment options but also wise enough to know when to seek professional helpthere will always be much more to learn regardless of age or experience And in our clinic it will not only be about providing great clinical skills but also about teaching self techniques simple exercises and or positions of relaxation sleeping postures and the creation of an incredible recovery experience for every patient

Therapy can do a lot for you and facilitate an active recovery I can help get you moving which helps with stiffness pain muscle tension and stress Exercising after struggling with pain can be difficult Therapy will ensure you are doing the right exercise for your body with the correct muscle sequencing dosed at the appropriate frequency to get you strong and back to your normal activities You will learn how to position correctly for common activities and chores that may have irritated or contributed to your problem
