Bryon McQuirt

Bryon McQuirt, M.D. is a board certified Adult and Forensic Psychiatrist in the greater Atlanta area. He graduated from The University of Toledo with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Sciences, with honors in psychology. After graduating from medical school, Dr. McQuirt completed his internship and residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. During his time in New Orleans, he was awarded outstanding resident in addiction psychiatry and received specialized training in the assessment and treatment of the psychological effects of trauma through the Victims of Violence Program at Louisiana State University.

Following completion of his training in New Orleans, Dr. McQuirt completed a year of specialized training in Forensic Psychiatry at Emory University. He then served as an inpatient Forensic Psychiatrist at Georgia Regional Hospital in Atlanta where he was responsible evaluating, diagnosing, and treating pretrial detainees with mental illness. Through his work with mentally ill defendants, Dr. McQuirt gained experience as an expert witness testifying in both civil and criminal cases. He is also an avid teacher and has lectured on various topics in both adult and forensic psychiatry, including psychopharmacology, civil commitment, violence risk, and psychiatric malpractice to name a few. Dr. McQuirt currently serves as adjunct facility at Morehouse School of Medicine and Augusta University.
