Babak Mokari, DO

Babak Mokari DO received his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. His specialty training included an internship at Henry Ford Health System and residency at Carolinas Healthcare System CHS in Family Medicine. Between his internship and residency training he spent a year as a healthcare corporate finance analyst with First Union Securities now Wells Fargo. Upon completion of his residency training in 2004 he joined CHS as a practitioner at its urgent care centers and Carolinas Integrative Health CIH. At CIH his main focus was osteopathic manipulation therapy OMT which is the manual aspect of osteopathic medicine. OMT, in addition to a holistic philosophy, distinguishes osteopathic physicians from traditional physicians with an MD degree. In 2008 he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue an academic opportunity at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was involved in teaching at the preclinical and clinical levels. He also became medical director of Touro University Medical Center where he oversaw the clinical and academic aspects of the medical center. In 2011 he moved back to Charlotte with the vision to reestablish an integrative medical center and bring osteopathic manipulation therapy back into the area.

Dr. Mokari has additional training in medical acupuncture and hypnotherapy. He combines all the various training and healing modalities in the care of his patients. Dr. Mokari treats patient with a variety of acute and chronic conditions ranging from sports injuries, chronic pain conditions, headache, jaw pain, TMJ disorders and movement disorders to integrative approaches to diabetes, hypertension, menstrual disorders, anxiety and depression

Dr. Mokari's passion has always been in nontraditional models of healthcare. He relies on his experiences in traditional and integrative medicine, academia, as well as corporate finance to serve as a consultant with executives, businesses of various sizes and corporations.

Dr. Mokari is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a fellow in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.
