Angeliki Pesiridou

I was born and raised in Athens, Greece and attended medical school in Italy. In 2005, I moved to the United States to complete my psychiatric residency at St. Lukes Roosevelt in New York, NY. After completing residency I relocated to Philadelphia where I worked as an outpatient psychiatrist at Crozer Chester medical center where I worked with patients with both chronic and severe mental illness and addiction disorders.

Currently, I work at one of the world's largest LGBTQ medical centers, Callen Lorde Community Health Center as an outpatient psychiatrist in New York, NY. I have gained invaluable experience working with the LGBTQ population, and I am able to conduct evaluations and write letters for gender marker changes, hormones, and surgical procedures.

My approach is behavioral by training and I am certified in DBT and proficient in CBT and short-term dynamic psychotherapy with special attention to affirmation of sexual orientation and gender identity. I integrate medication management with the above therapies. In addition, I work with patient experiencing immigration trauma and difficulty adjusting to life in a new country. I am fluent in English, Greek, Italian, and Spanish. I provide both medication management and psychotherapy in any of these languages.
